Gettone Group has finalised construction of the Burj Al Arab luxury Terrace beach resort in cooperation with our customer, Admares OY.

The Terrace was built in Finland before being delivered to Dubai. The production facilities in Finland were originally designed for the construction of luxurious cruise ships and are ideal for the island development project. The 3,000 tonnes of steel will eventually become an ultra luxury product for the Dubai market.

The Terrace, a 10,000 sq.m artificial island housing a luxury leisure facility, stretches 100m into the Arabian Gulf from behind the iconic hotel.

It boasts freshwater and saltwater pools, beach, restaurant and bar, plus private cabanas with butler service. Linked by a central walkway and flanked by beaches and private cabanas, the Terrace features 10 million mosaic tiles and 1,000 tonnes of white sand, while pools feature four jacuzzis and a swim-up bar.

The world’s first off-site constructed island, called the North Deck, for the world famous 7 star Burj Al Arab hotel left Finland on 9 January and arrived in Dubai on a heavy lift vessel. The remaining works were finalised in Dubai. On arrival at the hotel, the six sections were lifted by crane and lowered onto a grid of 90 steel piles, each 914 mm in diameter, stretching from the hotel out into the Arabian Gulf.

Stefan Leser, Jumeirah Group CEO, said: “The Burj Al Arab Terrace is a new Dubai landmark and a symbol of innovation and engineering excellence. A masterpiece in design and architecture, it reinforces Dubai as an outstanding destination and leader in global hospitality.
